If you're planning a backcountry ski trip, don't leave home without the following:
1.) Skins for your skis for those long uphills 2.) Telescoping poles so that you can adjust
to varying conditions 3.) Telling someone of your planned itinerary and estimated return time
4.) Map and Compass, don't rely on cell phones in the backcountry, they don't work in many
remote areas 5.) A repair kit containing a Leatherman or similar tool, zip ties, some twine,
and duct tape 6.) First Aid kit, including bivy sack or space blanket, food and stove or water
7.) Avalanche beacons and forecast if you're heading into that type of country.
