Does Your Shoe Fit?

Before you begin a walking program, get suitable shoes. They should have multi-layered soles, strong heel counters and be flexible in the forefoot area. Built-in arch supports are helpful especially if you have low arches. Replace your shoes as soon as they begin to wear. If the rear part of the sole is worn unevenly, it is time for a new pair of shoes.
