Healthy Heels

Avoid Achilles tendinitis by using good running shoes with a stable heel. Watch for wear along the heel's outer edges. Avoid steep hill climbing and running on hard surfaces. Stretch the Achilles tendon, calf and hamstring muscles before and after running. Strength-train all lower-leg muscles.
