Emphasize the Breaststroke Glide

Rule changes now allow breaststroke swimmers to put their head below the water's surface during the glide phase of the stroke (the part that comes after the completion of the kick). This means you can really stretch out during the glide and concentrate on putting your body in a streamlined a position for maximum distance after each kick. To achieve this position, try laying your head down between your outstretched arms momentarily, with your face toward the bottom of the pool.
