Points on Form - Getting Your Chest Forward

There is no single prescription for efficient running; we are all put together differently. There are general principles of body form that can be applied to all runners. Be sensitive to your own structure and abilities and never force a particular running style on yourself that doesn't feel right. To feel what it's like to get your chest forward, take a deep breath and maintain your forward (inhaled) position after exhaling. This helps you to use more of your lung capacity. When you breathe deeply you get better absorption of oxygen and in this way take fewer breaths.
