Points on Form - Relaxed Body

There is no single prescription for efficient running; we are all put together differently. There are general principles of body form that can be applied to all runners. Be sensitive to your own structure and abilities and never force a particular running style on yourself that doesn't feel right. If your body is relaxed and balanced by being erect, you won't have to spend energy keeping your head, neck, shoulders, etc., aligned. The muscles of your jaw and face should be so relaxed that they bounce and shake as you run. Relax your upper body; it's just going along for the ride and you don't want to divert energy into this area.
