If you can occasionally overcome the tiredness, and speed up when you'd normally
slow down, you'll find a great source of strength and power. Once you've tapped
this source in running, you can do the same in other areas of your life when
the going get tough. You can discover this strength in a series of small excursions
into the "twilight zone". At first you learn to tell when you've reached it.
Next, you take small pushes into it. Next, bigger pushes. Some days you'll overestimate
you capabilities and fall short. But if you're patient and keep at it, you can
learn to utilize this strength on a regular basis.
