Racing - Creative Distractions

Distraction is a strong ally. When you get into the tired zone, try to bluff your way through with positive thoughts. When these wear out, try distractions: passing the next runner, making it to the next telephone pole, or merely maintaining the same rhythm for the next five steps. At this point you may drift into a "cruising" state and things will start to flow. Be creative in your distractions.
