If you're in a race or a competitive training situation, don't think of your rivals as your enemies. Instead, view them as great opportunities for your own improvement. If you didn't have another runner pushing you towards the finish of a 5K, you wouldn't go as fast or achieve as much. Develop a synergistic relationship with other competitors.
