Dealing with Dangerous Dogs

What can you do if a dog bites you or knocks you off the bike? Check for witnesses--their testimony is important if you get hurt and pursue legal action. Note the dog's description and the address of the house where it came from. Also note the name on the mailbox if there is one. When you get home, call the county sheriff or other civil authority and describe what happened. Tell other cyclists of your experience and warn them about the potentially dangerous dog. And when you ride by the same house again, be extra vigilant!
