A common mistake for cyclists is to tip the nose of the bike seat downward. It's okay to slightly angle the seat, say one to two degrees off parallel with the ground. But angling it any more is asking for trouble. A sloped seat causes the cyclist to put more pressure on the knees and hands and shoulders by sliding body weight forward. Also, if the tip is angled downward, the seat usually must be raised so that the reach to the pedals feels right, which makes an already compromised position more so. These adjustments often lead to knee pain. The solution is leveling the seat and only tipping it if it's uncomfortable and even then, only tipping it a tiny amount.
