Don't get Railroaded!

Railroad tracks, especially those that stick up significantly from the road surface or tracks that cross the road at an angle, can be dangerous for cyclists to cross. Slow down, get your weight off the saddle and onto the pedals with the crankarms horizontal. Lift up slightly as you hit the upraised tracks. Adjust your line so you hit diagonal tracks as squarely as possible. Be especially wary when it's raining because wet steel rails are slippery as ice.
