Keeping up on the Uphills

Here's another climbing tip for group rides: If the other riders are about to leave you behind, don't press even harder. If you do, you'll exceed your fitness levels and "blow up," in cycling parlance; then you'll have to go much slower to recover. Instead, maintain a steady pace all the way to the top. You won't lose as much time on the faster climbers and you'll have enough energy left to catch up on the descent.
