For Uphill Power go Flat

You can build climbing power on the flats. Simply shift to a hard gear and stand up. Crank along at a cadence of about 70 rpm for 5 to 10 minutes while you're standing; then sit down, shift to an easy gear, and recover for 5 minutes. Do this twice. It's best to ride into a headwind for this exercise.
