Comfortable Hands

If your hands get numb while you're riding, move them to different positions on the handlebars. On a road bike with curving "dropped" bars, hold the flat tops of the bars near the stem, move to the brake hoods, and then hold the hooks of the bars. Alternating hand locations moves the pressure around, relieving any potential numbness. If you're riding a hybrid or mountain bike with flat bars, you'll have only one basic hand position, but you can get another one by installing bar ends.
