Out of site, out of mind

In a running race with lots of corners use this technique to lose someone who's marking you: Enter the corner just ahead of this person. For a few seconds you're out of sight. Use this opportunity to take a few quick steps before settling back into your previous pace. Do this on several corners and you'll open up a sizable gap (unless your foe catches on).
