Water

The danger lies not in neglecting water entirely, but in failing to drink enough of it regularly. Your body may be anywhere from 60% to 70% water. Women have a slightly lower percentage than men, and athletes a little higher than non-athletes. These are minor differences, however. The basic fact is that we all need a surprising amount of water each day (about 2 1/2 quarts), even when we're not exercising and the temperature is mild. When we're exercising just moderately in warm weather, this figure can easily double.
