Don't Despair On Downhill Runs

A quick way to injure yourself is to run downhill too aggressively. Instead, learn to relax on descents. Take the blow of each foot plant in the cushioned heel of the shoe and your bent leg. Try to land lightly and run at a gentle rhythm so you can maintain control and not overstride or jolt your joints excessively.
