Vary your Intensity

How should you divide your training efforts to avoid injury? Each week should be divided into periods of hard and easy days. On average it is recommended that 25 percent of the week should be focused on hard training and 75 percent of the week on easy training. So if you have 4 days to train during the week, one day should be devoted to hard training and three days to easy training.
