Eating Right is Your Right

  1. Visualize Your Success.
Resist the “stuffing of yourself” vision. Plan ahead for your success. Eliminate the thinking of: “Oh I always binge on this and that, and I’m never able to resist all the temptations.” Change your thinking. Instead, try thinking: “I eat a perfect amount to fuel my body.” Positive thinking gives you a fighting chance!

  2. Adopt the No More Excuses Philosophy!
That’s right! No More Excuses! Thanksgiving and the Holidays come every year. There probably isn’t any “new food” out there. So you’ve tried it all before. I’m not suggesting depriving yourself, but there’s no need to stuff yourself either. It’s just not worth the extra weight and beat-up sessions that usually follow.

  3. Plan Ahead! Bring Food with You.
A nice veggie platter with nonfat dip will take you far. Fill yourself up on sparkling water. Bring your walking shoes and grab a family member or friend and go for a walk! Break up the routine. If all you usually do is sit around and watch football, then get outside and go for a walk. Talk with a family member or friend that you never have time to talk to.

  4. Load Up on the Salad/Veggie Stuff First.
Pile it on your plate, eat that first and then go back for the “main meal” plate. By filling up on the salad/veggie stuff first, you’re more likely to keep the main meal portions under control.
